Easter 2020 Services and COVID -19 Restrictions

With the current health crisis, Fr. Paul Wolensky, Pastor of  SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, PA  announces that the  Liturgical Services will be on the church website for Easter 2020.  The Church is physically closed to the public for services in the interest of Public Health.

Please return here to our website, where a post will be made following each of the services listed with a link to the recorded service online.  Click on the link to view the service.  Fr. Paul will  officiate the service with our Cantor only, and the recorded service will be uploaded and available for all to watch 2-3 hours after the time listed.  Please continue to check back on the website for additional information and postings.

HOLY SATURDAY – April 12,
2:30pm
Basket Blessing – Blessing of Easter Foods
This will not take place in the Church, but in the parking lot instead.  Father asks that all who wish to have foods blessed, arrive at the church parking lot by 2:15pm.  Please park your car (do not back in), place your basket with foods for blessing in the trunk of your car, leave the trunk or back hatch open and get back in your car and remain there until Father completes the blessing.  The church will be open briefly for adoration.  Please enter through the River Street Doors Only.  Father asks that everyone practice proper social distancing from those outside your immediate family and that you not touch or kiss the “Plashchanytsia” Burial Shroud or any of the other icons or statues that you might normally so venerate.

HOLY SATURDAY – April 12,
Easter Sunday Vigil:  Resurrection of Our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ from the dead
7:00pm
Easter Vigil Liturgy.  Solemn Divine Liturgy offer for all Parishioners. (No Public Service.)
